These are training courses for all skill levels of MikroTik users from beginners to experts. They give a good overview of the most important aspects of RouterOS. All training is done using Version 3, however, most information is also pertinent to Version 2.9. 

Essentials is for those new to MikroTik RouterOS and concentrates on the basics of MikroTik, Monitoring, Routing, Firewalls, VPN's and Wireless Networking

Advanced is an advanced course aimed at those with some MikroTik knowledge and concentrates on more advanced subjects such as Advanced Firewalls, Dynamic Routing and advanced wireless, User Management, and control.

Mastering the MikroTik Firewall is a very advanced firewall course focusing around using NAT, Mangle, Filter and Layer7 functions to produce an Enterprise Class firewall for your organization

Tips and Tricks offers some essential management and configuration techniques useful for real world setup and operation of MikroTik RouterOS.

 Cost

R 3300.00 per 3 day session. The Mastering the Mikrotik Firewall course is R 1100.00 for the 1-day course. The cost includes cost of certification + free Level 4 MikroTik License.

Payments

Your registration is not complete and the seat is not guaranteed until the payment is received in full. There is a big demand for this training, and seating is limited, therefore we suggest that you do not delay with the payment.


Cancellations

In case you need to cancel your participation at the seminar, a written notice should be sent in by e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it 2 weeks prior to the seminar. There is an administrative fee of R500.00 for refunds. There is no refund for any training fees paid if cancellation is received less than a week before training starts, however it may be arranged to move the training to a later date if circumstances permit. 


Certification

At the end of Advanced training participants can attempt the MikroTik RouterOS Certification Test. A Certificate can be issued to those who successfully pass the test, along with an entry on the Mikrotik.com website under Certified Engineers. This certificate comes from MikroTik Latvia and has a charge of US$50

Travel and Visas

We cannot assist you with the travel arrangements and entry permits to South Africa.


Times

Registration starts at 8.30 AM on the first day of training.

Training Classes start at 9:00 AM each day and end at 5:00 PM

Refreshments, Coffee and Lunch are provided to all participants free of charge.


 

Course Prerequisites

Each participant will be provided with a RouterBoard to work with during the class. You need to bring your own laptop computer equipped with an Ethernet port.

Standard Course

1) Basic knowledge of TCP/IP and routing. We will be expanding on this during the course, but we suggest that the participants have a good working knowledge of IP addressing and routing.

2) Basic knowledge of wired and wireless networking.

Advanced Course

1) Good working knowledge of MikroTik at least equivalent to the Standard Training course.

2) Good working knowledge of TCP/IP, Routing, Wired and Wireless Networking

 Mastering Firewall Course

1) Good understanding of Firewall Filter, Mangle and NAT as well as general RouterOS.

2) Good working knowledge of TCP/IP, Routing, Wired and Wireless Networking

The courses are delivered by David Savage, MikroTik Certified Trainer. David Savage has been in the IT industry for over 18 years and builds and supports wireless networks, as well as delivering training and talks on a number of technical subjects. He has traveled all over the world to deliver both training and support. Most recently he was seen at MUM USA in Orlando, Florida, where he delivered Train-the-Trainer Advanced Training to the Stateside delegates, as well as presenting at the MUM itself. He runs a local support website geared specifically towards MikroTik users in Africa.
